The folks at Xiaomi India have just teased a “Flagship Dual Camera” on Twitter today. This will be a “Global Launch” for Xiaomi and this mobile phone is widely expected to be the Xiaomi Mi 5x smartphone. This will be the first dual camera smartphone by the company to be launched here in India.
The event is scheduled for September 5th, 2017 — just next week and mere days before Apple announced the next lineup of iPhones at an event in San Francisco. The dual camera smartphone by Xiaomi was first launched in July in their home ground of China. The company also unveiled the next version of its UI – the MIUI 9, which is currently available in beta for a select few devices.
If the phone to be unveiled on Sep 5th is indeed the Xiaomi Mi 5X, it will feature a 5.5 inch Full HD Display and will be powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC, carrying 4GB RAM along with 64GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB using external MicroSD. The battery inside the Mi 5X is a 3080 mAh battery.
Of course, at SharpShutter, we’re more interested in the camera itself. The two cameras featured on the mobile phone are expected to be a combination of a 12MP wide-angle lens with a f/2.2 aperture as well as a 12MP telephoto lens with a f/2.6 aperture. The front camera on the smartphone is expected to be a 5MP camera for all the selfie loving users.
Let’s see what the company has to offer next week. Stay tuned!
